ENTERTAIN WITHOUT LIGHTING A BURNER...
A well-crafted cheese board can serve as a balanced meal for one, a celebratory feast, or a delicious way to entertain. Let cheesemonger and food writer Alex Jones walk you through the basics of building a perfect cheese board.
In this class, you’ll learn about the Philadelphia region’s artisan cheese scene, what to look for when purchasing cheeses, how to make selections that will complement each other and accessories like preserves, honey and charcuterie, and tips for pairing your selections with beer, wine and spirits.
You’ll also learn how to store your cheese to keep it fresher longer, taste and evaluate cheeses properly (yes, there is a right way!) and style a beautiful cheese plate, using beautiful wooden boards made by Jezabel herself. We’ll enjoy flavorful local artisan cheeses with accompaniments during the class — and you’re welcome to BYO bottle to enjoy along with the cheeses. Students will receive one of Jezabel’s handmade wood boards to take home.
